Path-Based Program Repair
We propose a path-based approach to program repair for imperative programs.
Our repair framework takes as input a faulty program, a logic specification
that is refuted, and a hint where the fault may be located. An iterative
abstraction refinement loop is then used to repair the program: in each
iteration, the faulty program part is re-synthesized considering a symbolic
counterexample, where the control-flow is kept concrete but the data-flow is
symbolic. The appeal of the idea is two-fold: 1) the approach lazily considers
candidate repairs and 2) the repairs are directly derived from the logic
specification. In contrast to prior work, our approach is complete for programs
with finitely many control-flow paths, i.e., the program is repaired if and
only if it can be repaired at the specified fault location. Initial results for
small programs indicate that the approach is useful for debugging programs in
practice.Comment: In Proceedings FESCA 2015, arXiv:1503.0437
(KW)'There are concrete plannings for a big memorial-tablet at the building of the former German 'Reichstag' in West-Berlin which shall remember of the victims by national-socialist terror (1933-1945) among the parliamentarians of the 'Reichstag'. This article deals with the concept 'victim' ('Opfer') within its historical context during the national-socialist period of the German 'Reich' and presents two documentations: 1. a collection of short biographies of short biographies of the 83 known parliamentarians who were directly murdered by the national-socialists or died in prisons/concentrationcamps, and 2. a preliminary biographical list of 449 other victims (as emigrants and / or prisoners) among the parliamentarians of the 'Reichstag'.'
Computed tomography (CT), including CT perfusion imaging and CT angiography, has the capacity to assess stroke pathology on a functional and morphological level and can thus provide important information about patients with acute stroke. It excludes brain haemorrhage, assesses the extent of perfusion deficit, the extent of ischemic damage, and the site and type of arterial obstruction. Ischemic brain tissue below the blood flow level of structural integrity takes up water immediately and causes a decrease in x-ray attenuation. Computed tomography thus has the specific advantage of being able to identify the brain tissue which is irreversibly injured. If CT can exclude major ischemic damage in acute stroke patients, reperfusion strategies may rescue brain function and prevent disability

Mean-field effects in the Galloway-Proctor flow
The coefficients defining the mean electromotive force in a Galloway-Proctor
flow are determined. This flow shows a two-dimensional pattern and is helical.
The pattern wobbles in its plane. Apart from one exception a circular motion of
the flow pattern is assumed. This corresponds to one of the cases considered
recently by Courvoisier, Hughes and Tobias (2006, Phys. Rev. Lett., 96,
034503). An analytic theory of the alpha effect and related effects in this
flow is developed within the second-order correlation approximation and a
corresponding fourth-order approximation. In the validity range of these
approximations there is an alpha effect but no gamma effect, or pumping effect.
Numerical results obtained with the test-field method, which are independent of
these approximations, confirm the results for alpha and show that gamma is in
general nonzero. Both alpha and gamma show a complex dependency on the magnetic
Reynolds number and other parameters that define the flow, that is, amplitude
and frequency of the wobbling motion. Some results for the magnetic diffusivity
eta_t and a related quantity are given, too. Finally a result for alpha in the
case of a randomly varying flow without the aforementioned circular motion is
presented. This flow may be a more appropriate model for studying the alpha
effect and related effects in flows that are statistical isotropic in a plane.Comment: 12 pages, 14 figures, submitted to MNRA
Spectral Analysis of Heart Rate Variability: Time Window Matters
Spectral analysis of heart rate variability (HRV) is a valuable tool for the assessment of cardiovascular autonomic function. Fast Fourier transform and autoregressive based spectral analysis are two most commonly used approaches for HRV analysis, while new techniques such as trigonometric regressive spectral (TRS) and wavelet transform have been developed. Short-term (on ECG of several minutes) and long-term (typically on ECG of 1â24 h) HRV analyses have different advantages and disadvantages. This article reviews the characteristics of spectral HRV studies using different lengths of time windows. Short-term HRV analysis is a convenient method for the estimation of autonomic status, and can track dynamic changes of cardiac autonomic function within minutes. Long-term HRV analysis is a stable tool for assessing autonomic function, describe the autonomic function change over hours or even longer time spans, and can reliably predict prognosis. The choice of appropriate time window is essential for research of autonomic function using spectral HRV analysis
